Team Lead Volunteer Positions

Below is a list of our much-appreciated core volunteer staff, or Team Leads. These individuals devote countless hours to the planning and execution of the Conference, some of whom start their work as early as March for the following conference year. Some even hold two or more Team Lead roles. They are an amazing group of people and we are so very grateful for their energy and support of SWLC.

We wanted to acknowledge their hard work and dedication to Southwest Leather Conference by telling you about them here on our website.

Master George & slave bren

slave bren has been in the lifestyle for over 11 years. Born in Ontario Canada and that is where she began that journey until she met Master George in 2002. In 2003 she moved her life to California to begin the discovery of a Master/slave relationship under Master George and has since found her authentic self and freedom in slavery. She quickly made Los Angeles her home and immediately started her community service work. In 2004 she started the group Los Angeles sisters in submissio, a female support group for those who actively live life as female sub/slaves . Six years later LA_sis is a well known support home in the greater LA area for many sub/slave girls.

In 2006 she was voted in by The Threshold Society Inc. membership as the Recording Secretary where she filled that position for 2 years. During her time on the board she played a very active role in the producing of many Threshold fundraiser events. She has given presentations on S&M and the Master/slave dynamic at Orange College, The Lair De Sade, Southwest Leather Conference, DomCon, Erotic City, Olympus Leather as well as doing many educational events for Threshold on an ongoing basis.

In 2007 slave bren and Master George began hosting Threshold's Community D/s discussion group, where it has become today one of the largest D/s discussion groups in Southern California. slave bren ran for the title of South West Leather slave 2009, though she did not win the title she won in many other ways which have brought her to where she is today.
slave bren is presently an active Dungeon Monitor FA/CPR certified at Threshold has held the positions of vendor coordinator and NSCF Representative. She is presently the Threshold Education and Publicity Chair.

slave bren is a mentor, protector, sister and friend to many. she thrives on educating her community on the developments and concepts of the Master/slave relationship and is happiest when serving her Master and community. slave bren is a member of MAsT_GLA, Lair De Sade, LAsis, Master/slave circle, Threshold and The House of the Infinite Paradigm Leather Family.


Elwood

Elwood

Elwood is a professionally trained and certified body piercer and body brander, scarification and suspension artist and photographer. He was trained in San Francisco, California by Fakir Musafar, (the father of the Modern Primitive and the man credited with bringing body piercing to the western world).

As an educator and body modification practitioner, Elwood is known for his humorous personality while educating audiences on a variety of classes and workshops. He is acknowledged for his vast knowledge of the history of body modification and practical safety.

Elwood has presented numerous workshops surrounding body modification and alternative lifestyle topics around the globe. His commitment to advanced safety within the body mod industry has also led him to becoming an educator to the Simon Fraser Health Authority, Coastal Health Authority, The Canadian Institute of Professional Health Inspectors, and the British Columbia Institute of Technology.

Elwood has also been featured on Television with appearances on Shaw's "Urban Rush", Discovery Channel's "Skin Deep", TLC's "Human Canvas: Sacred Skin" and on MTV Canada's "Select". Elwood has also been featured in various print mediums and radio interviews.

Lauren
Dance of Souls - Piercing Lead
Lauren

A 16-year veteran of What It Is That We Do, Lauren is a poly, queer, femme, switch who is in service to the Goddess. She practices sex magick, communion with Spirit, and bases relationships on synchronistic intimate connections. She is seeker, mystic, and healer. With a fetish for blood play, body modification, and the sharp-and-pointies, it’s no wonder why she was called to ritual piercing. She has been piercing for play for over a decade, ritually for six years, having been trained by Elwood, and is currently in mentorship to learn ritual hook suspensions. Lauren has co-produced ritual piercing events in Colorado and Arizona and works regularly with Fakir and Cleo at Flesh+Spirit events in California. In January she will attend Fakir’s Basic Piercing Intensive and hopes to work part-time as a professional body piercer.

Lauren is fully expressing her Scholar archetype as a full-time pre-nursing student working towards a Bachelor’s in Nursing. She pays the bills as a Neuromuscular Therapist and Reiki Master/Teacher. Now living in Berkeley, California, she is settling into her new home. Lauren holds the titles of International Ms Leather 2007 and Southwest Ms Leather 2006 and was the recipient of the Pantheon of Leather Rocky Mountain Regional Award in 2009.


Master Onyxe
Dance Of Souls - Ritual Lead

Dedicated in the pursuit of identifying the true Nature within us, Master Onyxe is an Instructor for Butchmanns Experience and is the Ritual Team Lead and a Piercer for the Dance of Souls at Southwest Leather Conference. A member of the Arizona Power Exchange, Phoenix Chapter of MAsT and Arizona Amazons, she is gender fluid, tantalizingly queer and delights in exploring how perceptions and assumptions color our lives.

Introduced to BDSM through her quest for deeper spiritual connections, Master Onyxe quickly realized that the integration of Body and Spirit through SM and M/s is an essential part of her life path. Crediting body rituals as a vehicle for profound connection to our inner essence, she realizes that our possibilities are limitless and indescribable when Life is approached with awareness and intention. Mastery is a soul expression that empowers her to share her understanding with others in significant and meaningful ways.


Master Dennis

Master Dennis

Master Dennis has been a member of APEX since 1997, a member of MAsT Arizona, and the Arizona Men of Leather. He is the first fully professed Father for the Grand Canyon Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence as “Father Craven Morehead”. He was the Dungeon Master and trainer for APEX from 1998-2002 and board member from 1999-2000 (during 2000 was the last Co-President for APEX). Master Dennis handles logistics for Butchmanns Experience and was the founder of 'Dom Roundtable' at APEX in 1998-2009. He was also the founder/facilitator for the Advanced Roundtable, founder/Head Master for the APEX Prep (a monthly intensive 8-hour workshop on skill sets.)

Master Dennis was a columnist on The O-Zine, Crystal Bridge, Dom-Sub Lifestyle and a contributing writer to Leather and Roses under the pseudo name of Dragon~Lord, and Lee Harrington’s Anthology “Spirit of Desire”. He is a national speaker/presenter of lifestyle topics from the basics to the extremes; at APEX, TNG Phoenix, SHIBARI Las Vegas, Desert Dominion in Tucson, Rio Grande Leather, GLLA, Club X, Leather Spirit, Lair and Threshold. He has presented at the AZ Fetish Ball Phoenix, and Tucson Fetish Ball and SDL in San Diego. He is a requested guest lecturer helping to demystify the BDSM lifestyle at various colleges for their Sociology and Psychology classes over the past 10 years. Master Dennis was Head judge for the SWLC M/S contest in 2009 and a judge for GLLA M/S contest, the Mr. Padlock and the Mr. Phoenix Leather contest. He is the proud Master to his slave/wife Mistress Bonnie and Slave Amanda.

 


Stephen Bloom

Stephen Bloom

Born in 1963, Stephen is a gay leatherman and holds the titles of Mr. padlock Leather 2001, padlock Leathersir 2002, Marquis, Reign I, Prince in Reign II of the Imperial Court of Arizona and Imperial Commander of the Leather Guard for Reign III.

Stephen was proud to serve as Local Co-Chair and Director of Marketing for Leather Leadership Conference-IX, and was awarded the Rocky Mountain Region Pantheon of Leather XV Award. He served as Treasurer on the Board of Directors of the Arizona Power Exchange (APEX), Treasurer, and Vice President to the Universal Brotherhood of the Leatherlords (UBL), is the founding member and past President of the Arizona Men of Leather (AML). His involvement also includes assisting with the production of many other local and regional Leather contests and events, fundraising for local charities, community graphic designer, and educating and presenting lifestyle demonstrations in the community.

 

 


Master Bear

Master Bear began his journey in 1971 as a collared slave of 8 years to an amazing Mistress who showed him the intricate tapestry that is our Lifestyle. Upon her passing, he chose the Dominant path in honor and respect of her life and love for him.

Master Bear has been placed on the paths of Compassionate Sadist, Master, Daddy, teacher, mentor, advocate and service provider during his Lifestyle of 40 years. He is blessed to continue in many of those roles today. He is passionately emphatic about the Lifestyle and its immense diversity of citizens. Each one provides him with a new and unique opportunity to learn about others and himself, and walk another step on the path ahead.

Peter is a member of APEX & Phoenix MAsT and prior to moving to Arizona in 2005 was involved in the leather community in Western Michigan. He served with his slave dana as Vendor coordinators for SWLC 2009 & 2010 and is looking forward to volunteering again in 2012.

slavegirl dana is owned and collared by Peter. She has been gratefully in service to him since October 2008 and worn his collar since January 22, 2011. Slavehood is her spiritual path and brings joy to her heart. She has been an active member of the Phoenix Leather/BDSM Community since her introduction at Southwest Leather Conference 2004. She is a member of Arizona Power Exchange (APEX), Arizona Girls of Leather and Phoenix MAsT. In previous years she served as a Team Lead and volunteer for SWLC. She is excited to return with Peter as Team Leads for Vendors and the Silent Auction to the 10th Anniversary of Southwest Leather Conference in 2012.

Lady Spirit began her spiritual journey of leather in 1996 inside the dungeon walls of the Wet Spot in Seattle. After moving to Arizona in 1999, she became immersed in service and discipline to the local Phoenix community. A member and supporter of APEX, MAsT,NCSF,NLA, and Women in Leather International, she believes in the dynamic of the M/s relationship and that sacred service is the key to success in all orientations, genders and roled identifications. She is a mentor, healer, mother, daughter, educator, leatherworker, musician and humble spiritual student of leather. Blessed this year to be the Team Lead for Our Place, she is dedicated to providing a sacred space within Southwest Leather Conference.

Eagle James Gilbert, aka slave eagle, lives in Phoenix, Arizona with his Master, Master John. He has been in the leather lifestyle since entering into service to his Leather Daddy in 1998. Since that time he has evolved from boy to slave and has been in service to four Masters, one for over three years. slave eagle attended Master Taino’s Slave Training Academy in November, 2010. He is a member of Phoenix Boys of Leather, Arizona Power Exchange, Arizona Foot Men (a founding member), and Arizona Men of Leather. Slave eagle is also involved with events dedicated to benefiting charities; primarily Logan’s Playground (an agency serving children affected by HIV/AIDS. This is slave eagle’s first year working directly with SWLC.

Master Fire is a het-flexible, female-bodied and gendered woman currently from the mountains of West Virginia. She began her public involvement in the leather community in 2001 when she attended her first MAsT meeting in North Carolina. Currently, she is a staff member for the Butchmanns Experience weekend, Team Lead for the Wisdom Chamber at SWLC 2012, supports the community as Sister V'Gina Dentata of the Grand Canyon Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence (Emeritus) and is an Ordained Neo-pagan/Animist.
 
Master Fire is the author of Manual Creation, a book that describes her personal process of creating an Ms Household Manual in the hopes of aiding others to do the same. Like most people, she has changed over the years and her personal Ms Household Manual has as well, but the focus of the process still remains the same: Know yourself better in order to better serve and lead.

When he was about ten years old Dan got turned on thinking about tying Eddie Munster to the newell posts of the staircase where spot lived,,, but then what? 11 years ago he found the leather tribe and answered that question. He's devoted his life to intense, violent, wet, pig sex ever since.

 

Residing in Phoenix with his boy and partner of 4 years, Stephen Palaschak, Dan has been an active member of the Gay Leather community and holds the title of Arizona LeatherSIR 2009. He is President of the Arizona Men of Leather and co-producer of Southwest Ms Leather, LeatherSIR, Leatherboy, and Community BootBlack.

Daddy Kenneth Anthony resides in Phoenix with his slaveboy marcus, where he is a resident stage manager for the Nearly Naked Theatre Company. He has stage managed for several local community and semi-professional theatre companies over the past eight years and has also been one of the ball coordinators for the Imperial Court of Arizona's Coronation for the past three years. He is a co-founder of the Arizona Pups and Handlers, co-producer of the Mr. Phoenix Leather Contest and Vice-Director of the Phoenix Chapter of Masters And slaves Together. He is also a past board member from other local leather organizations.

Moe is simply, a bootblack. She held the Southwest Bootblack 2007 title. She has judged numerous bootblack contests and has taught the art of bootblacking at various events across the country. She believes bootblacking is both an artistic and spiritual expression of leather pride with the leather serving as the conduit of energy exchanged between two people. Her passion is exploring the art of bootblacking from the practical applications of leather care to the erotic dance that leaves you wanting more.

Master Bob Blount, Northwest Master 2006, calls the Portland and Willamette Valley kink communities home and is an active member of Butchmanns Experience Faculty, Portland Leather Alliance, MasT: PNW, Portland Dom’s Group, Dungeon Monitors Association, and the South Valley BDSM Group. He currently serves as the Deputy Director of MAsT International and is the Butchmanns Board of Directors liaison to MAsT International. In his professional life he runs his own personal motivation business, Solution Mentoring and is a certified life coach specializing in relationship and personal growth issues.

In and out of the leather community he is passionate about helping others to live more joyful and fully authentic lives, and has established and organized fun and supportive environments for his community, moderated and facilitated discussion groups, mediated conflicts, participated on panels, and presented interactive workshops on various topics ranging from M/s dynamics to S/M technique and “Conversations on Spirituality and Sexuality” for both the kink and vanilla communities. While he understands that being out is a luxury not everyone can afford he feels fortunate to be able to choose this path for himself and his slave because he feels modeling wholeness by telling the truth about who and what we are, despite the perceived risks, is an act of authentic leadership to which he aspires. It is his hope to honor both our unique differences and our shared common experience, building bridges of understanding both within the local leather communities and his larger circles of influence

Justin Tanis has been enjoying SM for over 25 years and has served as a slave for almost 16 years. He has served as the editor of The Leather Times, the newsletter of the Leather Archives & Museum, and has been honored to received the2008 Pantheon of Leather Rocky Mountain Regional Award, the Southwest Leather Conference Spirit of Service Award in 2011, and the Master Jack McGeorge Excellence in Education Award from the Master/slave Conference in 2011. Justin has presented at a wide range of leather events including Leather Leadership Conference, Southplains Leatherfest, the Master/slave Conference, Los Angeles Leather Weekend and Rio Grande Leather. He works for a national LGBT advocacy organization.

slave Trudy served as the Education Lead and VIP Liaison for Southwest Leather Conference for the last two years and has experienced many ah ha moments while attending Butchmanns Experience. She has a deep love for all that is Butchmanns. It is her distinct honor to be invited to serve as part of the Butchmanns Academy faculty and to serve SWLC as a judge for the upcoming 2010 Master/slave Contest.

She is deeply involved in the leather community and counts herself lucky have the most amazing friends. She spends most of her time on a deeply spiritual journey of self discovery.

She is the founder & co-director of El Camino Real Chapter of MAsT International. She served on the Board for smOdyssey and was one of the Event Coordinators for the NorthWest Master slave Contest 2007. She is also graduated from Journeyman's III Academy, California 2006.

None of the above would be worth a darn if it weren't for the friends that she has made along the way. She feels very fortunate to be able to spend many hours with her leather family & friends sharing vacations, holidays, kink events and family meals while discussing their spiritual paths, their leather experiences and where they can put their service hearts to work. They have shared their deepest feelings, cried many tears (both good and bad) and laughed until their sides hurt. She hopes to share many more hours in the company of those she loves deeply.

An Arizona native, Master Trish has been living in Tucson for the past eighteen years and has been active in the kinky community for the past eleven years. She is a founding member of Desert Dominion, and chaired four successful Southwest Fetish Balls, the first ever event of this type to be held in Arizona. She continues to be an active part of the Governing Council at Desert Dominion. Driven by her passion to serve the Kink Community as part of her journey in Mastery, she supports the Tucson MAsT chapter, organizes various lifestyle groups and fund raising events for the local Leather Community.

Having first claimed her role as a Master at a Butchmanns Experience weekend, Master Trish has been on that adventure for the past six years. Her journey has included blending ritual and spirituality with her style of S&M as an important part of her Master/slave relationships. She especially enjoys teaching and mentoring new people in the lifestyle
 


Master Dutch

Master Dutch

Master Dutch has been involved in the European BDSM community for many years. He has been owner of two public Dungeons in Belgium and board member of the BDSM organization Rozes vzw in Belgium. Master Dutch has presented workshops on a variety of topics such as bondage, spanking, flogging, fire play and needle play. Over the years he has organized several events in Europe. He is also webmaster of several BDSM oriented websites (commercial and private) and webmaster/developer of non-lifestyle websites. He hosts, via globalkink.com, several BDSM oriented websites on his owned servers. Since the servers are located in Amsterdam the laws are more flexible on distributing information regarding BDSM than in other countries. Master Dutch is also member of MAsT and of the dungeon Edges in San Jose and has given some play labs and classes on spanking, flogging and fireplay.

Master Dutch started exploring out the SM closet in 1977 and is in M/s relations for over two decades. Professionally he calls himself a generalist/entrepreneur with specialization mainly in the IT industry. Being semi retired he still is quite active on mainly Internet hosting, development and large scale project management.

Master Dutch is proud to own his "kleine meisje" slave sara.
