Eric Reed currently is a freelance photographer in Southern California. He began working as a professional photojournalist while attending The Academy of Art University in San Francisco in the early 1990’s. Upon completion of his Bachelors of Fine Arts in Photography, he began working as the Chief Photographer for the Argus-Courier a newspaper in Petaluma, Calif.. In 1998 he moved to the Mojave Desert of San Bernardino County, Calif. and has worked as a Staff Photojournalist for several Southern California newspapers. He earned his Masters of Science degree in Photography at Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara. Eric has photographed in 27 countries on four continents. His images have been published worldwide. He is a Contract Photographer for photo agencies The Associated Press and ZUMA Press.
Currently he is a novice Buddhist Monk and lives at 7,000 foot elevation in Big Bear. Ca.
He has attended SWLC since 2016 and is active in Edgewalkers.
